if I were betting on the horse races , I would not want Nipper or Wendy as my bookie or betting pardner...they always pick losers! Consider the latest News-Press endorsement of Dr. Dan Secord for 2nd district county supervisor..Dr. Dan is for the rich white folks who in herited their cash...they were probably his customers when he was a Dr and the relationship never evolved beyond money being funneled back and forth to each other...Secord as a credible political figure is a figment of the News-Press' imagination..just like Brooks Firestone was...if you watched Brooks as a county supervisor making $80,000/ year, you at least got a laugh when he'd bounce around and fidget and bemoan regulations and try to hurry up meetings..geez, if you make 80 grand a year, you better sit and listen and do the work!! and he gave thousands to Secord this time around; he pushes booze to college students; and he leased land to the Greka Oil spillers and claimed that the spills were all minor while taxpayers cleaned up the mess! Who are these people kidding? The reason the News-Press likes Dr. Dan is because he wants to bust up the union contracts...the county would be in better shape if the conservative majority that was Brooks, Joni and Centeno had any brains and started to shrink the size of county gov't and huge administrative salaries. Instead, they focused on the wrong things like planners and unions all in attempts to reduce regulations for developers and worker pay...so if you like what Enron, Arnold and Bush did to California, you'll love what Meg and Dr. Dan have in store...they all have interchangeable brains!
