when you're down and out..
who would you trust your children with: a well-liked hospital administrator or a homeless person? I would let the homeless babysit my kids because the hospital administrator is probably a child molester...well, a Templeton hospital administrator was arrested for child molestation, so I guess that means that all hospital administrators are child molesters...of course not...so why does the new Milpas Association of businesses want to characterize the homeless as a threat? There are many reasons: fear, ignorance, perceived loss of business...the MA wants more police presence to deal with the homeless situation around their businesses on Milpas Street...now, if you've lived in Santa Barbara for awhile, you'll know that Milpas is a working class neighborhood, it's the industrial area of Santa Barbara..no Guccis here....I love the area and used to live on Alisos St in a tiny apartment with a big window that looked down on my neighbors, who were young women...they used to parade around the living room naked and I'm tellin' ya, there's nothing better than a second floor apartment!! I used to take out my.....never mind..
so the homeless are striking fear in all the well scrubbed yuppies and wuppies and luppies in town...the mere sight of a dirty, poor unkempt person is enough to send shivers down their spineless spines....but the homeless don't bother me a bit.. I've spoken with some folks all over town and they are quite friendly... if they need help, the shelters are there...
now, any person committing a crime whether it's a hospital administrator or a homeless person should be dealt with by our laws, but saying the homeless are a threat simply because they are poor and down and out, is not credible...they've been with us since the beginning of time...hobos, bums, transients, homeless...always with us and always will be...a product of an imperfect society..many are veterans..and where are all the conservatives like Dennis Miller and Cherly Ladd who want to help our troops and vets, who stage rallies and form non-profits and stand in front of cameras for publicity for their ailing careers..where are they when it comes to helping the homeless?? posing in front of a camera somewhere or trying to get them a ticket out of town....it seems the Milpas business owners want a police state to keep the homeless away from their well-heeled customers...I say it's a free country and as long as you don't break the law, you should be able to do as you please, regardless of how you look!!
