Next fire event, we should call Travis for leadership..he wants to be the incident commander or communications officer!after reading Trav's column, I laughed. Travis, you couldn't communicate your way out of a paper bag!
First he says a "big Santa Barbara" thank you to the fire fighters, then indicates that he means no disrespect when he calls them incompetent!
why does the News-Press always feel the need to speak for Santa Barbara? Travis, no matter how hard you try, you'll never be a Santa Barbara kinda guy!
Then... he goes on to tell the county what a lousy job they did and next time call him, because all you gotta do, according to him, is: call a news conference, put up a map showing where the fire is, hand out some fact sheets, and so on....and so on? what kind of analysis is that? if you have any history in Santa Barbara and have witnessed any of the fires, you will know better than to demean fire fighting efforts for political reasons..that's all the NewsPress did..diss the county efforts because that's what the NewsPress has been reduced to...a not a watchdog, but a wankdog
Speaking of wankers, Travis was gushing over the new kid running for City Council... "he's so refreshing" cries Travis....Justin Tevis is his name. Better watch your behind, Justin..don't let Travis get too close! Travis likes those young dudes and I heard he's looking for a new punk! Justin will be on AM 1290.. the Travis A Happy Hour...10:00 am Sunday.
Now, Justin sounds a little goofy, likes the Tea Parties and his biggest problem seems to be skateboarding issues... check out his blog where he wants to go back to the "hay days" of America..the 1980s! The hay days!! with Gomer and Andy and Barney...that kinda hay?? the Heehaw hay???

Sorry, kid, you need some more years on your face before you earn a spot on the council..I promise, appearing on Travis' show won't help you a bit....now, if you had shown some smarts and denied Travis' request for a radio visit, you would have helped your political career....but probably would have broken his heart....
