take tax money, rip up vegetation on two off ramps, Santa Claus Lane and Reynolds Ave in Carp, install an unnecessary maze of irrigation lines and plant native species eventually...and then rip it all out when the freeway gets widened!!??Whoever thought of this insane waste of money ought to be shot in the ass with a BB gun! God almighty, the ice plant and trees they cut down were there for years not doing any harm and not needing additional water supplies..the ice plant prevented soil erosion but since they ripped it out and the winds came, lots of topsoil just blew away! THIS IS MY NEIGHBORHOOD CALTRANS SO GO AWAY...GO
MESS UP HOPE RANCH!!!Caltrans doesn't seem to know we live in a semi-desert climate where water is precious, not a commodity to be pissed away on watering your stupid native garden between two highway off ramps!! Besides, the non natives will grow back just fine. Your job is to keep the highway running smoothly and fix potholes which you have failed at miserably...
Dodged a Bullet
apparently the folks at the Woods Estate didn't read my post about fires/defensible space fixation a few days ago. I made it very clear that if you do stupid things in the hills of Santa Barbara and you could start a catastrophic fire..and what do they do? They get a permit to burn brush to make room for "defensible space" which is then left unattended for a few days. The embers from the permitted burn start a fire on about an acre. Stupidly, the Fire Dept gave them a permit... Luckily the Fire Dept responded quickly and the high hot winds didn't kick up. If they had, this thing would have spread thru Mission Canyon faster than herpes in a downtown SB nightclub!...so keep up the "defensible space" good work folks and next time..remember, GOD GAVE YOU A BRAIN , USE IT ....If you don't want shrubs in front of your house, landscape with stone and succulents....
