and other war fantasies...
so on Memorial Day, the fantasy News-Press has some front page propaganda about the wonderful Iraq invasion...or as some people like to call it the Iraq Liberation...see, I thought we attacked and invaded Iraq and blew apart and maimed little boys and girls and men and women and animals in Bush's mistaken attempt to prove Iraq had weapons of mass destruction..no weapons of mass destruction were found, so Bush, the commander in chief, and his chicken-hawk staff Cheney and Rumsfeld fucked up and Obama's not much better. I thought the pictures of our troops scaring poor folks in Iraq, going house to house looking for terrorists and acting more like terrorists than terrorists was common knowledge. There's nothing heroic about killing children... I thought we Americans were smart enough now to stay out of other peoples' business unless directly threatened, but I guess I was wrong. To set me straight, all I need do is watch a YouTube video by an Iraq veteran's (radio communicator??) mom and all will be well understood...an Irag vet's mom..this is the same bull that Dr. Laura used to pull when she wrote for the News-Press, pretending she was Shirley Temple, and we all know what a corrupt piece of crap she and her son Derryk's disservice to the country turned out to be...I mean, really, why lie when you can tell the truth?? the truth will set you free while lies will cheapen and hurt America. Our military is here to protect and serve America, not abuse poor countries!!
cost of freedom..cost of war
Cost of deploying one U.S. soldier for one year in Iraq - $390,000 (Congressional Research Service)
Lost & Unaccounted for in Iraq - $9 billion of US taxpayers' money and $549.7 milion in spare parts shipped in 2004 to US contractors. Also, per ABC News, 190,000 guns, including 110,000 AK-47 rifles.
Missing - $1 billion in tractor trailers, tank recovery vehicles, machine guns, rocket-propelled grenades and other equipment and services provided to the Iraqi security forces. (Per CBS News on Dec 6, 2007.)
Mismanaged & Wasted in Iraq - $10 billion, per Feb 2007 Congressional hearings
Halliburton Overcharges Classified by the Pentagon as Unreasonable and Unsupported - $1.4 billion
Amount paid to KBR, a former Halliburton division, to supply U.S. military in Iraq with food, fuel, housing and other items -
Iraqi Civilians Killed, Estimated - A UN issued report dated Sept 20, 2006 stating that Iraqi civilian casualties have been significantly under-reported. Casualties are reported at 50,000 to over 100,000, but may be much higher. Some informed estimates place Iraqi civilian casualities at over 600,000.
U.S. Troop Casualties - 4,397 US troops; 98% male. 91% non-officers; 82% active duty, 11% National Guard; 74% Caucasian, 9% African-American, 11% Latino. 19% killed by non-hostile causes. 54% of US casualties were under 25 years old. 72% were from the US Army ...
Now, the mom and her son were simply following the Bush Doctrine of attacking countries that scare them, but Bush is out now and hiding in Texas..the Iraq war was a disaster and the veterans will tell you that..the honest ones, anyway...and the wars continue to impact soldiers and families..they are long expensive wild goose chases..if we want to get rid of the Taliban, then we should go in and take care of business NOW, not a little bit here and there.. but our military commanders are more concerned about gays in the ranks than winning!!
and Israel continues its racist policies backed by the USA: May 31) -- An Israeli attack on a flotilla of ships carrying humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, which killed at least nine pro-Palestinian activists, has been met with protests and condemnations from around the world. The Israeli naval operation, which took place in international waters some 75 miles off the Gazan coast about 3 a.m. today, sparked a severe diplomatic crisis with its former ally Turkey, home to many of the activists. The six-vessel-strong convoy had intended to deliver about 10,000 tons of aid to Gaza, which has been blockaded by Israel and Egypt since the Islamist movement Hamas took power there in 2007...pathetic
children will fall, into the streets
with love in their eyes, but no shoes on their feet
our bunker bombs, will kill them all..
in a heartbeat....
attacking Iraq didn't protect me or my freedom one little bit...but soldiers will always do their duty...
and right wing propaganda machines like the News-Press will try to bullshit readers with feel-good stories about wars, but we have nothing to be proud of as far as Iraq is concerned...nothing...a big nothing..and an ignorant America is a dangerous and weak America....
