Kiefer Sutherland Headed To Canada For Tommy Douglas Statue Unveiling


REGINA — Kiefer Sutherland is coming to Weyburn.

The Canadian actor, producer and director, best known for his portrayal of Jack Bauer on the television drama series 24, will be representing Shirley Douglas and family at the unveiling of the life-size Tommy Douglas statue in Weyburn on Friday.

The unveiling will take place at the Riverfront Boardwalk at 2:30 p.m.
Sutherland is the grandson of former Saskatchewan premier Tommy Douglas, who is most commonly known for bringing universal health care to Canada.

Douglas represented the Weyburn constituency during his time as premier from 1944 to 1961.
