Let's see..I got two places for playing polo..and they both are in my end of town..the wonderful Polo fields near Carp and the huge palace/country club/sod farm/wet dream near Summerland owned by real estate shopping center mogul Pat Nesbitt, a big Bush supporter.

Poor poor Summerland, filled with too many houses where horses used to graze on the hillsides, boutiques where surf shops used to be... and a stupid little wine tasting room....another area fallen victim to upscale disease...but back to horsies: WELLINGTON, Fla. (April 20) - Officials were waiting Monday for test results to find out why 21 polo horses from a Venezuelan team fell fatally ill before a match at a Florida tournament. One veterinarian said it looked like some kind of poison was to blame.
The horses from the Lechuza Caracas team were being unloaded from their trailers Sunday afternoon when two collapsed and others acted dizzy and disoriented, according to the International Polo Club Palm Beach. Seven horses died at the scene and the rest while being treated elsewhere or en route to medical care....this story got we wondering how the local polo community treats their horses..are the animals taped, drugged, and prodded to produce artificial horsebots? Are they abused when ridden so hard in the matches or during silly horse races while the spectators sip cocktails at socialite gatherings??

Santa Barbara wants to build a children's museum. On Sunday, the News-Press had a little clip on some trouble at the Los Angeles Children's Museum..at least that's what the headline said. The story below the headline was about ..CASINOS...another fuckup by editor Travis, who was either too drunk to notice, or too busy lying about City Hall in his "repeat til you puke" News-Press column...

LOS ANGELES-- An unfinished children's museum in the San Fernando Valley has filed for bankruptcy after a major private donor accused of investor fraud reneged on his pledge.

The Children's Museum of Los Angeles filed for bankruptcy Friday. The project in Lake View Terrace needed another $22 million to open its doors but was plagued with staff turnover and fundraising woes.

Sherman Oaks investor Bruce Friedman had pledged $10 million. However, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed a lawsuit last month accusing him of stealing $17 million from investors and a judge froze his company assets.

Los Angeles invested more than $10 million into the museum. The City Council will hold a hearing Wednesday to discuss taking over the property.
