like a rolling stone...

hey guess what..there's a new non-profit in town!
realchange

This one is designed to change your behavior about the homeless dirty smelly panhandlers who scare average white people away from shopping downtown ...that's what it's really about although the website has all sorts of stuff about compassion and positive change and how they really wanna help the down and out....and now you must never ever give a dime to the homeless directly. Instead put your change in little boxes around town and the authorities will see it gets spent wisely! and of course you can give directly to the nonprofit!!
nobody ever taught you how to live out on the street
And now you're gonna have to get used to it
You said you'd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
He's not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And say do you want to make a deal?
so, all this is supposed to help the homeless, a population made up of war vets, drug addicts, alcoholics, poor people, abused people, regular people who lost something, slackers, and mentally ill people. To help them, just donate money to a little box. See, if you give them money on the street, you may have to come in direct contact with them and you might enable them..to eat..how yucky! You may actually talk to a complete stranger who could slit your throat in a minute! He could pee or even puke on you...now that's really yucky...or he may yell at you..in reality, if you give a quarter to someone who obviously is less fortunate and stop and listen or talk for a minute, you've made a small connection with a person who may need it..it's real simple. Chances are, you'll walk away alive..
Unfortunately, most properly dressed folks would never sink so low as to talk to a homeless person, but wouldn't hesitate to give money to a fireman who is in the street, interrupting traffic with a boot in hand, begging motorists for spare change "for a good cause".. so I suggest this: use the nonprofit money to buy boots for the homeless so they can panhandle in a most acceptable way...in the middle of the street and at intersections like the Fire Dept does!
