oh shit, just what I've been dreading..more development...the historic Camper Park on Via Real that today houses migrant workers in trailers was bought a few years back by Peoples Self Help Housing, a nonprofit that has been helping itself to Carpinteria tax money to the tune of $700000 thanks to the city council...PSHH is worth over 50 million dollars so something is amiss here but I'm too weary to fight anymore...I'm going to spend my days counting the flowers before they all disappear...
but seriously, PSSH plans to build apartments here and a community center for poor people, to get them out of the old trailers, into properly supervised apartments, and onto better lives and you get to pay for it! Now, with all the talk about our beautiful government going socialist under Obama, what about nonprofits!! Talk about redistribution of wealth.... tax exempt PSHH takes money from donations and from city coffers, then they give it to their tenants!!
Double dippers!! and they are making tons of money helping themselves to all that free cash!! what a freaking scam!! and this guy surveying the property flashed me the peace sign only I don't feel too fukin peaceful right now..and then I see Jesus walking down the street carrying his cross!!
let me tell ya folks, enlightenment comes with a price!!
so anyway, they got the story flags up and the buildings won't be too high...I guarantee they are gonna cut down all those palm trees that hooded orioles and I have loved for 14 years..my guess is they will plant other native trees somewhere around the complex...the good part of this fiasco is they wanted to build out more on the ag land in back, but Carp said no after a public outcry....leave agriculture land alone or I'll round up every migrant farm worker in Carp and ship 'em back to Oxnard and your little socialist village won't have any inhabitants...I can't stop PSSH because they have too many palms greased in political circles and at City Hall..but I'll be watching them closely and if I see anything, and I mean anything, that appears peculiar to me, I will be on them like white on rice... like a cheap suit...
like mayonnaise on a bologna sandwich..
like a fat kid on cake...
like ducks on a June bug...
