day of the triffids....

New Riders of the Purple Sage....good band
Native Daughters of the Golden West...weird ladies

everytime I turn around, non-profit groups pop out of the ground like triffids! Remember that great scifi book/movie? The majority of the population has been blinded by a strange meteor shower, which also brought spores for triffidus celestus, a man-eating plant which can move about, and is now feasting on the blind and helpless....(private sector)

City Council wannabe Mike Self likes non-profits..she's got one of her own: Safe Streets..see, this is what some private folks do when they don't want to work..they start a non-profit: they solicit funds anyway they can..donations, fund drives, asking city councils for taxpayer dollars..the goal of a non-profit is to raise money!! what oxymorons these people are!
Of course, when money is raised so easily, fraud is rampant:
According to a Times report by Stephanie Strom, fraud and embezzlement in the non-profit sector account for a loss of $40 billion a year, or roughly 13 percent of philanthropic giving.
journal
Secret Society...
Another non-profit has come to light, and this one is strange..and Mike Self belongs to it, according to Noozhawk..noozhawk
The name is Native Daughters of the Golden West..talk about a native-only cult! They discriminate against you if you weren't born in California!

but...NO JAPS!!
Japanese immigrants and their American children were frequent targets of prejudice and political attacks for 50 years before World War II. In May 1905, delegates from 67 organizations convened in San Francisco, California, to form the Asiatic Exclusion League, later known as the Japanese Exclusion League.
The Commission on Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians (CWRIC) reported that within three years, the Japanese Exclusion League had more than 100,000 members and 238 affiliated groups. Other groups along the West Coast also acted against people of Japanese ancestry: the Native Sons (and Native Daughters) of the Golden West, and the American Legion among others...
