Criminal Minds: CMRT Visits Behind the Scenes - The Final Post

We were supposed to post these last few pictures yesterday but we decided to give the Season Finale "Our Darkest Hour" a day all its own.

Here are the last few pictures from our day on the set. It was a wonderful few hours spent immersed in all that is our favorite show, Criminal Minds. The cast and crew were so gracious with their time. We hope that someday we are invited back.

At the end of our tour, the cast gathered for this exclusive CMRT shot. We cannot tell you how good-looking this cast is. Pictures do not do them justice.



Very nice of Thomas Gibson, AJ Cook, and Matthew Gray Gubler to pose for a couple of pictures for us. Thomas you really need to smile more...you have a great smile. He was trying to be all Hotch. :)



Initially in the picture were Thomas and AJ but Matthew saw them, ran over, and said...oooh, can I be in it too? Of course, who could ever say no to that handsome face.



Thought we'd end this post with the symbols of the BAU.



So Season 5 is over and what a great season it was. Our cast is still enjoying their hiatus while the writing and production teams begin work on Season 6 next week. Erica Messer told us in chat this week that she considered herself "vacationed" and is ready to resume work on CM. We can't wait for the conclusion of "Our Darkest Hour" and look forward to what they will bring us next season.

CMRT will continue to post news and articles during the summer so please continue to visit our site. It will be a long 17 weeks but we will do our best to make them enjoyable.

We walked down the catwalk from where Hotch's office is to the BAU conference room.

Looking through the door we could see Paget Brewster and Shemar Moore

We heard Matthew say he was happy to be wearing his sweater. He felt more like Reid while wearing it.

What a great experience to watch these true professionals at work.

Funny story, when Paget, Matthew and Shemar were gathered outside of the conference room before they made their entrance, we heard Matthew tell Shemar he had been tweeting as fake-Shemar. Shemar laughed so hard. So nice to see for ourselves how close they all seem to be.

Before heading to the conference room to watch them film, we turned and investigated Hotch's office first.

We were able to visit Rossi's office too but it was too dark to take any pictures inside of it.

Criminal Minds: CMRT Visits Behind the Scenes Part 3

We got very lucky on our set visit and all of our cast were on hand that day. The atomosphere was almost a little giddy since they were just about ready for their hiatus. Lots of packing up was being done. Goodbyes being said by the writers as they prepared for their well-deserved break. It was a little like the last day of school before summer.

Here you will see all 7 chairs are out for our cast.



We couldn't get over the famous Thomas Gibson little chair. It looked so tiny between Paget Brewster's and AJ Cook's. Really wish we would have remembered to ask him about it when we spoke to him.



The man seated to your left actually controls the pictures that appear everytime JJ is presenting a case. JJ presses the remote control, he changes the image.



The scene we had the opportunity to watch being filmed took place in the BAU's Round Table room. Kind of fitting don't you think? Just judging by the crime scene pictures we saw, this is going to be a pretty intense case.



Next we walked into the BAU bullpen. This is a permanent stage and not one they build everytime they shoot here. It looks just like it does when you see it on your TV. We are actually standing right outside of Hotch's office when taking this picture. In the foreground are their desks. The lights are shining into the BAU conference room. To the left of that is the catwalk that leads to the conferene room and the darkened area to the right of that is their coffee/break area.

And to answer a question posted in one of the comments, sorry no pictures of Tim Curry. I think all the guest star filming had already been completed and they were just filming the team.

We got to tour the LAPD set. It's amazing how just a few changes and they make this area of the set change into whatever local field office or police department they need it to be. The magic of television.



Dark woods usually indicate some level of importance



These pictures would be the desks where the detectives sit.





Amazing work the crew does to prepare each office for the shoot.



The set dressers meticulously put up the crimescene pictures and make it appear that a full scale investigation is under way.

Criminal Minds: CMRT Visits Behind the Scenes Part 1

Criminal Minds Round Table paid a visit to the set on the second to the last day of filming. Filming was being done at the studio and here is what we were treated to.



This is our tour guide Jace. What a total sweetheart. Everytime someone said Hi to him and asked how he was doing, he would reply, "Just living the dream!" We believed him too.






Jace is originally from Houston. When asked what he wanted to do in this business, his reply, "Everything. I want to do it all." CMRT wishes him nothing but luck. He was great to us.



Jace took us on a tour of everything and over the next few days, CMRT will share some of our pictures with you.



The Season Finale, Our Darkest Hour, takes the team back to Los Angeles.
