The Herald Sun reports that nearly 25 years after Tom Cruise played Maverick in the action film Top Gun, discussions are taking place to revive the 80's cult classic. Paramount Pictures is negotiating with the film's original producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to work on Top Gun 2 and members of the original cast will reportedly take part in the project, New York Magazine reported.
Cruise's starring role in the original movie as Pete "Maverick" Mitchell will be much smaller in the sequel - perhaps as a flight instructor, a source said.
