Obama Names Rationing Czar to Run Medicare

Here’s more cold water in your face Mr. and Mrs America.

President Obama lied through his teeth about the benefits of ObamaCare. He knew all along of the reality of his health care plan always involved rationing care the same way its done in Canada and Great Britain.

If you have a sickness but don’t fall into arbitrary treatment protocols a government administrator sets, then you won’t receive treatment under ObamaCare.

Welcome again to Bamazuela.

From CNS News:

Dr. Donald Berwick of the Harvard Medical School does not like free enterprise, but he does like rationing. Two years ago, in England, he delivered a talk celebrating the 60th birthday of Great Britain’s National Health Service, the bureaucracy that runs that nation’s socialized

medical system. He apparently entertained some fear that day that the Brits might turn back to free enterprise. So, in his address (as reprinted in the July 26, 2008, edition of the British Medical Journal), and as reported this week by Matt Cover of CNSNews.com, he offered British socialists some words of advice.

“Please,” he told them, “don’t put your faith in market forces—it’s a popular idea: that Adam Smith’s invisible hand would do a better job of designing care than leaders with plans can. I find little evidence that market forces relying on consumers choosing among an array of products, with competitors fighting it out, leads to the health care system you want and need.

In the U.S., competition is a major reason for our duplicative, supply driven, fragmented care system.” To Berwick, America’s health care system is not the model for the world. Great Britain’s is. In his view, it is vital for the Brits to hold high the flame of socialized medicine so the world can follow its lead.

“I hope you will never, ever give up what you have begun,” said Berwick. “I hope you realize and affirm how badly you need—how badly the world needs—an example at scale of a health system that is universal, accessible, excellent and free at the point of care—a health system that, at its core is like the world we wish we had: generous, hopeful, confident, joyous and just. “Happy birthday,” the ebullient doctor told the British health care socialists. If you have not noticed already, this man has a crush on collectivism.

“Cynics beware,” he said. “I am romantic about the National Health Service; I love it.” This love extends to approbation for rationing health care and using the health care system to redistribute wealth.

“You cap your health care budget, and you make the political and economic choices you need to make to keep affordability within reach,” Berwick told the Brits.

“You plan the supply; you aim a bit low; you prefer slightly too little of a technology or a service to too much; then you search for care bottlenecks and try to relieve them.” And they get to play Robin Hood in lab coats. “You could have protected the wealthy and the well,” he said, “instead of recognizing that sick people tend to be poorer and that poor people tend to be sicker, and that any health care funding plan that is just must redistribute wealth.”

Last June, after President Barack Obama signed the $787 billion stimulus law that included funding for a Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research, thus pre-positioning the federal infrastructure that would be needed to guide federal health care rationing decisions under a new national health care system, Berwick gave an interview to Biotechnology Healthcare that was brought to light this week in a report by Fred Lucas of CNSNews.com.

Berwick explained that there are three steps to “comparative effectiveness research.” The first is to determine whether a therapy works or not. The second is to determine how well the therapy works compared to other therapies. The third is to do a cost-benefit analysis.
“If a new drug or procedure is effective, and has some advantage over existing alternatives,” Berwick said, “then does the incremental benefit justify the likely additional cost?”

Now, in a free country where people freely chose to pay for their own health care with their own money, this is a good question for any prudent consumer. It is exactly that “free market force” that Berwick implored the British socialists not to put their faith in.

But in a country where the government has taken regulatory and fiscal control of the health care system—where the state is subsidizing most people’s care—and where government bureaucrats make the decisions about who gets what treatment, this question is not the animating moving force behind the invisible hand of the market, it is the dark materialistic spirit behind the iron hand of a life-and-death tyranny.

Media Malpractice: AP Coming Clean About ObamaCare After it Gets Passed-Hot Air

Folks, we’re seeing a carefully orchestrated information dump by the main stream media to cover its ass.

Last night I posted an article about NBC finally running a story about the serious damage ObamaCare will do to the fiscal structure of the United States.

Ed Morrissey over at Hot Air wrote this brilliant piece you must read calling out the Associated Press for reporting information about Obama Care they purposely sat on until after the bill became law.

There are two points of this story I want to make clear.

1. The truths about Obama and why it’s a bad law.
2. Media activism in the sense that they acted as government agents disseminating information put out by the Obama administration instead of reviewing, questioning and reporting the merits of the legislation on behalf of the public.

We as Conservatives know why ObamaCare is horrible for the country because e we cared enough to learn what’s actually in it.

The main stream media actively cheerleaded the legislation and reported only the benefits the government claimed the law would provide.

However, the proper function of a free press is to examine, question, and report the goings on of government.

That did not happen here!

And that’s as big a scandal than the legislation itself.

Here are key excerpts of Morrissey's article

[a key tax break that kept retirees on company prescription-medication plans will mean dumping millions of seniors onto Medicare — and that the AP ignored it until now]

[With more than 3,500 companies now getting the tax break as an incentive to keep providing coverage, others are almost certain to announce similar cost increases in the weeks ahead as they sort out the impact of the change]

[The Democrats in Congress argued that they would gain $5.4 billion in revenue by eliminating the tax break enacted in the 2003 Medicare Part D program as an incentive for businesses to keep their retirees out of the Medicare system. Instead, they have given businesses a reason to dump their retirees out of the private networks and into the Part D system now. Not only will the expected tax revenues never appear, but now we will have to spend a lot more money covering those prescriptions out of public funds. The seniors in these programs will suffer most of all, as the Part D coverage is vastly inferior to the private plans offered by businesses in the private sector.]

Obama Care is Already Making me Sick!

Friends have been asking me why I don't post more stories about the battle over health care reform?

The truth is, I'm sick of reading about it and especially writing about it.

This issue is the only issue Obama is about!

He doesn't care about nothing else because he wants to establish his legacy on nationalized health care.

If he can't get the public option, then bash the insurance companies, change the laws to run them out of business, and where else will the people need to go to get the health care?

Uncle Sam!

If that were to happen, what would be the difference between Barack Obama and Hugo Chavez?

Are the Obots in this country that stupid to realize if ObamaCare gets passed, this country becomes a Banana Republic?

It's not over yet, but that's not what America is all about.

Paul Ryan Pummels President Obama with Facts on ObamaCara

KNOCK PUNCH by Rep Paul Ryan and down goes President Obama!

I guess its never a good idea to let some facts about what’s actually written in this massive take over of health care by the U.S. government.

From the Weekly Standard:

Rep. Paul Ryan, Republican of Wisconsin, just launched a full-bore assault on the faulty assumptions behind the claim that the Obama health care plan will reduce the deficit. Obama didn't even bother questioning Ryan's presentation. He changed the subject to Medicare Advantage. The expression on the president's face as Ryan made his case was absolutely priceless. Simply put, he looked like someone who realizes he's met his match.

Did you how angry the President looked while he was getting his clock cleaned?

Democrats Go Nuclear in 60 Days to Pass ObamaCare

Those pesky Democrats in the senate, at least the ones who haven’t announced their retirement, are choosing to pass ObamaCare by using the Nuclear Option, also known as reconciliation whereby only a simple majority of 51 votes gets the bill passed.

This is a very audacious move by the Dems who insist on passing a healthcare reform plan that will lead to inadequate care at the hands of an administration that loves to spend your money.

The Hill reports:

The move would allow Democrats to essentially go it alone on health reform, especially after losing their filibuter-proof majority in the Senate after Sen. Scott Brown's (R) special election victory in Massachusetts.

Republicans have protested the maneuver as a hyperpartisan tactic to ram through a health bill, and have said that plans to use the reconciliation process make moot a bipartisan summit at the White House this week, where both GOP and Democratic leaders are supposed to present their ideas on healthcare.

Full story

As has been the case for the past year, Democrats don’t want to listen to Republican ideas or anything dealing with free market solutions.

Their true God is government now, government tomorrow, government forever!

4 Dem Senators Want Nuclear Option to Pass Public Option

Despite the fact ObamaCare makes most Americans sick, four Democrat senators are asking Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to use reconciliation, a procedural maneuver, otherwise known as the “nuclear option”, requiring only 51 votes, to push for a public health insurance option.

Sens. Michael Bennet (Colo.),
Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.),
Sherrod Brown (Ohio)
and Jeff Merkley (Ore.) signed a letter to Reid saying they support this plan for four reasons: the cost savings the public option is estimated to achieve, continued public support for the public option, the need for increased competition in the insurance market and the Senate's history of using the reconciliation process for health care reform.

The letter points to the last CBS News/ New York Times poll that surveyed Americans on the public option, from Dec. 2009, which showed that 59 percent of Americans supported the public option.

However, Allahpundit at Hot Air points out the following:

As nutty as this sounds to fiscal conservatives, is it really that bad of an idea politically? The public option has polled consistently well, especially vis-a-vis the toxic numbers for the overall bill.

That’s due to several factors — dumb poll questions, poor GOP messaging about the slippery slope of government-run health care, and the minor detail that most of the public doesn’t understand what the public option is

These Dems are getting more and more desperate and panic grows as ship Obama continues to sink.
