Maryland woman Robyn Gardner goes missing in Aruban resort town - six years after Natalee Holloway vanished from same place

Here we go again!

Don't expect the Aruba police to do any better this time around.

Daily Mail

Six years after the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway, yet another American tourist has vanished from Aruba while on holiday.

Thirty-five-year-old Robyn Gardner, of Frederick, Maryland, disappeared on August 2 from the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino in Oranjestad.

Ms Gardner was visiting the island with a man named Gary Giordano, who was reportedly detained for questioning on Friday while trying to leave the island.

Giordano, Robyn's travelling partner, denies having any involvement in her disappearance and said she disappeared in strong currents while they were snorkelling.

The statement from his lawyer states that Giordano 'emphatically denies' any wrongdoing. It says he had sought to leave Aruba on Friday because he was told he wasn't a suspect and didn't have to stay.

Police detained the 50-year-old Giordano as he attempted to leave.

Since he has been held, he has allegedly changed his story several times.

Asian markets tumble for a SECOND day after Dow goes into freefall sparking panic on Wall Street

If you’re near retirement, you better sell and maintain capital. If you’re retirement is some years away, this is a great buying opportunity.

Daily Mail

• Asian markets plunge for another day, with key Nikkei down 4.4 per cent

• Nasdaq and S&P down seven per cent while Dow Jones falls 600 points

• Obama admits 'tough time' but says: 'U.S. will always be a triple-A country'

• Euro markets boosted by authorities' vow to buy Italian and Spanish bonds

• Michele Bachmann says Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner should resign

• Tension builds between White House and rating agency Standard and Poor's

• S&P warns it could downgrade U.S. rating further if no fiscal improvement

• Also lowers credit ratings of mortgage lenders Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac

Asian equity markets were sharply down early today as investors fearing a possible global economic slowdown continued to flee stocks.

Japan's Nikkei 225 index plunged 4.4 percent to 8,694.31 in the morning session, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index plummeted 7.3 percent to 18,998.51. South Korea's Kospi index plummeted 8.2 percent to 1,716.05.

The news comes after panic swept Wall Street yesterday as U.S. stock markets plunged by up to seven per cent in the wake of the historic U.S. credit rating downgrade.

The pressure increased today, with Oil falling below $78 per barrel, toppling to its lowest price of the year on concerns that a slowing global economy could crimp demand for fuel.

Elsewhere, Australia's benchmark S&P/ASX-200 index lost 4.5 percent to 3,806.70. Taiwan's TAIEX dropped 4.9 percent and New Zealand's benchmark NZX 50 index shed 3.8 percent.

Echoing concerns across the markets, Shane Oliver, chief economist of Australian investment manager AMP Capital, said he was surprised that the Australian market had not stabilised after steep falls on the previous two trading days.

'I would have thought we would have factored in a lot of the weakness, but obviously the fall on Wall Street was greater than Australian investors and Asian investors expected this time yesterday,' Oliver said.

Yesterday, the Dow Jones fell more than 600 points in a six per cent drop in New York - while the Standard & Poor's (S&P) and the Nasdaq both plunged and ended down a huge seven per cent.

It was the S&P's worst day since December 2008, with every stock in the benchmark index ending in negative territory - and President Barack Obama's speech yesterday seemed to make things worse.

Despite expectations that the soothing words of a U.S. President would help calm jittery investors, Mr Obama couldn't help stem losses and said the nation 'will always be a triple-A country'.

J Lo slutting it up with Latino Brad Pitt (William Levy) after video shoot

I guess she’s lonely!

Ever since the announcement of her pending divprce to Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez has been getting her slut on in public.

I think she should grow up and work it out with her husband and go back to her family.

Daily Mail

Their on-screen chemistry was undeniable in Jennifer Lopez' new music video released in May.

And now new behind-the-scenes pics show the pair looked just as steamy in between takes.

Cuban soap star and former model William Levy, 30, starred as J-Lo's love interest in the video for the aptly-named I'm Into You.

In the clip, filmed in Cancun, Mexico, a buff William, who has been dubbed the 'Latino Brad Pitt', can be seen running from the beach towards Jennifer who lounges back on a chair. These latest candid shots show the pair gazing into each others eyes while the crew behind them busily prepare the scene.

In one shot, Jennifer stands behind William with her arms wrapped around his neck and her face nuzzled into the back of his neck.

Shocking Video: Tottenham London UK rioters age 7 fire and destruction and wild looting

This type of mindless violence and destruction of private property has no place in civilized society anywhere in the world! It only takes a handful of fools to cause serious damage.

The Sun

CHILDREN aged SEVEN joined in the orgy of mob violence and destruction that engulfed Tottenham.

Saturday's savagery in North London caused £100million damage. Cops made 56 arrests. And last night there was looting and violence in nearby Enfield.

Tottenham's police chief was on holiday, despite an alert over simmering anger after gun cops shot dead dad-of-five Mark Duggan, 29, last Thursday.

Detective Chief Superintendent Sandra Looby decided not to cancel her break after talks with community leaders.

Looting

She flew to Florida hours before protests over suspected gangster Duggan's death flared into riots and looting - the worst scenes since Tottenham's Broadwater Farm riots in 1985.

Buildings, police cars and a double-decker bus were burnt - and 26 police were injured.

Meanwhile, the police version of events at the shooting of Duggan was challenged. They said he was shot after firing at a cop, who was saved by the bullet hitting his radio.

But tests on a bullet lodged in the radio are said to show it was police issue, not from the handgun Duggan was carrying.

Witness David Akinsanya, 46, said: "I saw kids as young as seven or eight running up the street with their faces covered."

Outrage over shocking images of the 10-YEAR-OLD model Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau who has graced the pages of Vogue

We just can’t let our kids, be kids.

Then we wonder why we have problems of teen age pregnancy, children being born out-of-wedlock which is the #1 cause of poverty in the United States.

Self inflicted wounds is our biggest problem.

Daily Mail

She reclines among leopard print pillows, her rouged lips pouting at the camera. But shockingly the model in these highly sexualised pictures is only 10 years old.

The provocative images of Thylane Lena-Rose Blondeau, who is tipped as the next big thing on the fashion scene, are causing a storm of controversy with campaigners furious that a child so young should be displaying the sexual allure of someone twice her age.

Thylane has appeared in numerous campaigns and her image is all over the internet. To date she has an impressive portfolio - the French girl has graced the cover of Vogue Enfants and posed for high-end editorials.

Scotland Couple walking their dogs discover 30ft carcass of sea creature rotting on beach. Lock Ness?

Killer whale my left foot!

Daily Mail

A couple were left shocked when they discovered the rotting body of a sea monster while walking along a beach.

Margaret and Nick Flippence made the incredible find as they exercised their dogs at Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.

Mr Flippence, 59, who lives nearby, said: 'We were stunned. I thought, "oh my God what is it?"

A spokesman for the Natural History Museum said: 'We have spoken to one of our mammals curators, and they have confirmed the animal is probably a long-finned pilot whale – Globicephala melas.

'Apparently it’s not unusual for these to wash up on the shore.'

Rob Deville, a marine life expert at London Zoo, said the body could be that of a killer whale or a smaller pilot whale.
Whale expert Mark Simmonds told the Sun: 'it died a long time ago and tides caused the body to wash ashore.'

Taxpayer are funding U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria sponsoring gay film festival

How is this constitutional for the federal government to take my money and sponsor a gay film festival?

The Feds are activity promoting a life style billions of people around the world find offensive and immoral based on the teachings of Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

Yet, it’s a big problem to say a little prayer in school to the supreme being of their choice?

But, homosexual sex is all good and needs to be touted worldwide at taxpayers’ expense?

Daily Caller

“Everybody’s perfect!” says the poster for a gay film festival sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Bulgaria.

The festival, Sofia Pride ‘11, will feature screenings of Milk and other films in Sofia, Bulgaria from June 1 to 29. The American, German, French, Swiss and British embassies are jointly sponsoring the event.

“The series features one movie selected by each of the five sponsoring embassies, and aims to promote acceptance of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) rights in Bulgaria by examining the different issues and challenges which members of the LGBT community face in today’s world. All films will include Bulgarian subtitles,” a press release says.

The U.S. is kicking off the festival by showing Milk, a film about the first openly gay elected official in California. “The screening will be followed by an after-show party at My Mojito Club Sofia,” the press release says.

Bride-to-be attempts suicide in her wedding dress after break-up... but is saved with seconds to spare

“He ain’t worth it, Honey!”

Daily Mail reports hanging precariously outside a seventh-storey window, this is the dramatic moment a bride-to-be was saved from committing suicide in her wedding dress. The desperate woman had clambered out on to the window ledge of a residential building in Changchun, Jilin province in China, dressed in a flowing ivory wedding gown.

As horrified onlookers tried to talk her away from danger, the bride-to-be was about to plunge to the floor before being saved by a local community officer.

British woman Jennifer Mills-Westley beheaded in Tenerife made desperate plea for help before attack

Where the hell was thew police?

This is ridiculous for something lie this to happen. You walk the streets without getting your head cut off?

Disgusting!

UK Telegraph reports Jennifer Mills-Westley, the British woman beheaded in a Tenerife supermarket, tried to avoid her tormentor by taking refuge in an office doorway.

The retired 60-year-old from Norwich was stabbed to death and beheaded in the horrific attack on Friday.
She alerted a security guard in the social security office that she had been subjected to "threatening behaviour" from an unwashed vagrant.
Her tormentor, a 28-year-old homeless man called Deyan Valentinov Deyanov, was well known in the popular holiday resort for his unpredictable and sometimes violent behaviour.

Mrs Mills-Westley waited for him to move on, and alerted a security guard in the social security office where she sheltered that she had been subjected to "threatening behaviour".
It is unclear whether the Briton, a 60-year-old retired road safety officer from Norwich, was aware of the man's dangerous reputation. After a few minutes Deyanov left and the danger seemed to have passed.

Grand View Topless coffee shop in Maine forced to close... but not because nudity

I reported on this story last year and now the famous topless coffee shop is back ion the news.

Daily Mail reports a coffee shop with topless waitresses, which has caused a storm of protest in a small town, has been forced to close after it put up a 'boobies wanted' sign.

Grand View Topless Coffee Shop in Vassalboro, Maine, hit the headlines when it opened in 2009, offering to serve customers semi-nude. And despite a wave of protest from local campaigners in its home town of fewer than 5,000 people - and one high profile arson attack - the shop had until now, managed to keep business going.

But the controversial store's topless waitresses will finally have to get dressed and leave after town officials ruled that it has been putting up signs illegally.

Bosses insist the order has nothing to do with the shop's nudity policy - or the fact that the signs offered a topless car wash and advertised: 'Boobies wanted'.
They say simply putting up the new signs without permission violated zoning rules.

Donald Crabtree, the owner of Grand View Coffee Shop, which uses topless male and female waiters, said he had given up after fighting to exist for two years.

'I wanted to have some fun; I wanted to see people smile,' he told local paper the Maine Morning Sentinel. 'I started the topless coffee shop to do that, and it did. But now my smile's gone.

'I've fought that fight for more than two years now and no matter how hard I try to make this work, somebody sabotages me.'

'These people are bound and determined to shut you down. I'm singled out, but I'm just trying to make a living like everyone else.'

The shop opened in 2009 to a storm of protest from its rural community and prompted Vassalboro and many other communities to bring in rules to regulate where and when sexually oriented businesses could operate.
A few months later, in June 2009, the store's original location was burnt to the ground.

The man charged for being responsible for the arson, Raymond Bellavance Jr., who was in a relationship with one of the waitresses, is still awaiting trial.

Crabtree, 43, who has since run the business from a trailer, finally decided to close down after he was forced to take down the nude car wash and 'boobies wanted' signs.

The town's code officer had given him a week to remove them or face legal action.

If the residents of the town don’t want a toppless coffee shop, then that pretty much should be the way it is. Is it so hard to have a regular coffee shop with good food being the single most important factor as to the success of the business?

Gimmie a break!

Now a bikini coffee shop….

David Beckham in L.A. car crash

UK Telegraph reports the footballer was unhurt in the crash on the 405 freeway which occurred on Friday morning as he was driving his eldest son Brooklyn, 12, to school.

Brooklyn was also unhurt.

Beckham's black Cadillac crashed into the back of a gold Mitsubishi which had broken down in the southbound car pool (car-sharing) lane, according to a Californian Highway Patrol spokesman.

The 40-year-old male driver of the other car was taken to a local hospital complaining of neck pain but was understood to be not seriously hurt.
Beckham's car was said to be one of many that swerved to avoid the broken down car.
The Mitsubishi reportedly only lost its bumper in the crash, which happened near Torrance, in south Los Angeles, on one of the city's busiest freeways.
Beckham and his family have been based in California since he joined local football team Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007.

The midfielder, who celebrated his 36th birthday at the beginning of the week, attended last month's royal wedding with his pregnant wife, Victoria, before flying to Texas for a game against FC Dallas two days later.
The Californian Highway Patrol spokesman said: "Yesterday at approximately 9.13am he [Beckham] was involved with a collision on the southbound 405 freeway just south of Artesia Boulevard.

Obama took SIXTEEN HOURS to make up his mind about Bin Laden mission

So now the details are beginning to come to light that Obama did act like Obama by taking seemingly forever to make a decision. For his sake, his 16 hours of indecision did not cost the mission to get bin Laden.

Daily Mail reports Barack Obama kept military commanders hanging by declaring he would 'sleep on it' before taking 16 hours to give the go-ahead to raid Bin Laden's compound.

Hit squads of specialist Navy Seals - who were not even told who they were preparing to capture - had practised the mission at two reconstructions of the terror chiefs sprawling compound.

The mission looked set to be given the all clear last Thursday when analysts confirmed beyond doubt that Bin Laden was in busy town of Abbottabad in northern Pakistan.

But the president stunned officials when he told a national security meeting that he wanted more time to think - and disappeared out of the room.

'I'm not going to tell you what my decision is now - I'm going to go back and think about it some more,' said Obama, according to the New York Times. He then added 'I'm going to make a decision soon.'

The head of the CIA and other senior intelligence officers who were keen to proceed were left tense as they waited for the president's decision.

But the next morning after 16 hours, Obama summoned four top aides to the White House Diplomatic Room. Before they could speak, the president put his fist on the table and declared 'It's a go'.
With those three words, the greatest military operation in recent history began. Had it not been for heavy cloud cover on Saturday, troops would have been deployed then.

But they waited another day, and reached Pakistan just before midnight on Sunday evening. Obama refused to tell Pakistan about the mission in case it was leaked by jihadist sympathisers within the administration and Bin Laden took flight.

Luckily, the four U.S. helicopters were not detected by Pakistan's military who would have been quick to take action against the uninvited aircrafts.

After a 40-minute raid, the details of which are still emerging, Bin Laden was declared dead having received a bullet to the brain.
Millions of U.S. citizens still scarred by the atrocities of September 11 took to the streets to celebrate news that the world's most wanted terrorists had been killed.

Conservatives in Canada Expand Party’s Hold Liberal Party rejected by voters

I’m so happy to see the conservative wave just isn’t happening in the United States. The good people of Canada have voted and told the world that Liberalism doesn’t work.

This a new day in Canada!

New York Times reports the Conservative Party will again govern Canada, this time with a majority, following the country’s fourth election in seven years

In addition, incomplete results late Monday night clearly indicated that the New Democratic Party, a movement with socialist roots, will form the official opposition, which would mean that the vote is likely to significantly reshape Canada’s political left.

It was the first time since Canada became a nation in 1867 that the Liberals, the most successful political party in the country’s history, finished in third place.

The unexpected rise over the campaign’s final days of the New Democrats, a party historically distinguished by its lock on third place, was also devastating for the Bloc Québécois, a party that has championed Quebec separatism for the last 20 years. It was reduced to just two seats and its defeated candidates included Gilles Duceppe, its long time leader.

For Prime Minister Stephen Harper, obtaining a majority was the overriding focus of his campaign. In the end, he did much better than the dozen seats he needed to secure the 155 required for control, acquiring 165, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation projected. The New Democratic Party won 105 seats, well above its previous record of 45, while the Liberals held only 35. Elizabeth May, the leader of the Green Party, became its first, and only, elected member.

The Liberal leader, Michael Ignatieff, who had appeared in danger of losing his seat, said he would remain in his post if that was the desire of his party.

“Democracy teaches hard lessons,” he told supporters in Toronto.

A flood of on-the-one-hand, on-the-other commentary in the final days of campaign portrayed the rise of the New Democrats as both a gift for the Conservatives (by splitting left-of-center votes with the Liberals) and a menace to the them (by stealing away seats). The early returns suggested that the result was more of the former.

BREAKING NEWS: Osama bin Laden, world's most wanted terrorist, killed by U.S. forces in Pakistan

This a is great for the U.S. military, President Obama and the nation. The 3,000 lives that were lost on 911 have finally been avenged.

May Osama bin Laden root in hell forever!

Daily Mail reports Osama bin Laden has been killed by U.S. forces, President Barack Obama was expected to announce tonight.

The Al Qaeda leader, who had a $25 million price on his head, was killed in Pakistan.

The U.S. has spent the past ten years trying to track Bin Laden down.

But for years the trail went cold, leading to a thaw in relations between America and Pakistan, where it is thought he was hiding out.

He was killed by U.S. personnel in 'an incident' on Sunday and his body is in American hands. It was described as a 'huge development' in the fight against terrorism by military experts.

Bin Laden was seen as the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania in which 3,000 people died.
He praised God for the terrorist attacks and swore America 'will never dream of security' until 'the infidel's armies leave the land of Muhammad.'
The 54-years-old Saudi-born extremist had for years been protected by a network of people while living in caves in the rugged, mountainous Pakistan-Afghanistan border region.

It is believed he was killed by U.S.troops on the ground.

Pippa Middleton designs her very own wedding dress... out of toilet paper and Harry makes a move?

I came out of the Royal Wedding more impressed with the other Middleton sister, Pippa, than Kate. And from some others published reports, Prince Harry may have put some moves on her.

Lets face it, Harry is the cooler prince of the two. And Pippa looks more exciting than her boring sister. Plus baby got back!

Daily Mail reports the world watched in awe as Pippa Middleton walked gracefully down the aisle on Friday in her stunning Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress. But as these photos show, Pippa's attempts at bridal style weren't always so chic.

Kate's Maid of Honour is set to gain yet more kudos as a fun-loving party girl thanks to photographs emerging of the MIddleton's second daughter wearing a bridal gown made out of loo roll(toilet paper for American readers).

The photographs, snapped at a dinner party some time ago, show Pippa gadding about dressed in swathes of toilet paper fashioned into a skimpy wedding dress.

Cart-wheeling verger Ben Sheward rebuked by stodgy clerics after becoming wedding web sensation

Shame on the Abbey clerics for scolding the cart-wheeling verger. There’s nothing wrong with showing joy in God’s house.

I’m sure Jesus didn’t mind one bit! To be able to do cartwheels at his age, Ben derserves a medal.

Daily Mail reports the Westminster Abbey verger who became an internet sensation after cart-wheeling down the nave following the Royal Wedding has been rebuked by senior staff.

Sources at the Abbey said the man was feeling ‘fairly chastened’ after his impromptu display of acrobatics was caught on film.

Although he is unlikely to face any formal disciplinary action, Abbey staff have warned him not to speak publicly about the incident.

While the Abbey has refused to identify him, sources have disclosed he is Ben Sheward, who lives in South London.

The sources said Mr Sheward is believed to have worked at the Abbey for ten years, and he has previously been pictured welcoming new choirboys by sharing sweets with them.
According to some sources, he has studied music in New Zealand and is an expert on the composer Edward Elgar.

Mr Sheward waited until some 1,900 guests had left the Abbey before seizing his chance to cartwheel down the red carpet that William and Kate had just walked along for the first time as a married couple.
In the clip, the black-cassocked verger is shown strolling down the carpet.

As a number of apparent stragglers from the wedding service look on, he embarks on one cart-wheel, smiles, and then squeezes in at least one other before disappearing out of shot.

ITV cameras caught his antics, which were beamed to millions of viewers around the world, ensuring the unsuspecting verger became an international celebrity.

The clip had already attracted 100,000 internet hits yesterday, and comments on various websites had come from as far afield as the United States and Australia. One said: ‘I think this self-publicist should be sacked!’ Most, however, praised him.

A Westminster Abbey spokesman said: ‘The verger, like all of us, was very pleased the service had gone according to plan, and was expressing his exuberance.’ He emphasised that the incident occurred some time after the wedding had finished.

But Abbey officials were keen to prevent the story spreading further yesterday with one saying: ‘We are just trying to keep a lid on this one. The verger has been spoken to a number of times and has been advised how to handle the situation.’

The official denied, however, that the man was in hiding, saying the Abbey had not resorted to such extreme measures.

Yesterday there was no sign of Mr Sheward amid the thousands of visitors to Westminster Abbey.

One verger, who was greeting the crowds, said: ‘We all found it jolly good fun when we heard but I don’t think he anticipated all the publicity.

‘I believe he thought the cameras would have been turned off by that point. Now some visitors are expecting all vergers to be doing cart-wheels.’

Another Abbey worker added: ‘It was lovely, just lovely. It reflected the joy we were all feeling at that point. But he really isn’t looking to become a media star – he isn’t that kind of guy.’

All of the carpets, furniture, fixtures and fittings which had been brought in for the wedding had been cleared away by Friday night.

The only evidence of the nuptials yesterday – besides the larger-than-usual number of visitors – were the 20ft potted trees lining the aisle.

A verger is usually a layman who assists in the ordering of religious services, particularly in Church of England churches or cathedrals.

A verger’s main role is to lead processions during services, and they often play a prominent part behind the scenes, helping to plan the logistical details of a service and discreetly shepherding the clergy through it. But they have a variety of other functions, from acting as odd-job men to guiding tourists around the buildings.

The office’s title comes from the ceremonial rod which a verger carries, a virge, from the Latin virga, meaning branch, staff or rod.

Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood Now Plans Big Political Role

This is not a good development! But, it wasn’t like people Sean Hannity didn’t see this coming. Look for Egyptian women to be treated like 2nd class citizens, but worse than that, Israel’s security is in grave danger.

This was never a Democratic uprising, but rather an Islamofacist takeover pure and simple.

The Blaze reports the once outlawed Muslim Brotherhood says it will contest half of the seats in Egypt’s parliamentary elections in September, revealing plans to become a major force in the country’s post-revolution politics.
The elections will be the first since the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak by a popular uprising in February.

The Brotherhood remained Egypt‘s best organized opposition group despite a campaign by Mubarak’s regime to suppress it. It successfully fielded candidates in previous parliamentary elections as independents.
At a news conference Saturday, the Brotherhood named the leaders of its new Freedom and Justice party.

The party will test to what extent the Brotherhood is willing to moderate its rigid religious discourse to try to win broader political support.

Video: Incredible cart wheeling verger Ben Sheward down Abbbey aisle Royal Wedding

I promised myself that I wasn’t going to blog about the Royal Wedding. I didn’t get up at 4:00 am to watch it. But, I did switch to it after the Mets were losing to the Phillies.

Yeah, it was cool to watch.

But after I saw this story, I couldn’t resist anymore, so shoot me.

Daily Mail reports the relief of getting the wedding out of the way was etched not just on the faces of the people involved but also in the actions of one of the clergymen.

Verger Ben Sheward decided that after the majority of the guests had gone he would do some acrobatics and cartwheeled down the aisle at Westminster Abbey.
The joy of the nation was summed up in his actions caught on camera as ITV continued to film what was going on inside the abbey to millions of people watching worldwide.

That was fun to see!

Good luck, Will and Kate!

Pub singer Simon Ledger arrested for singing Kung Fu Fighting-It’s Racist

Political correctness is getting out of hand. We’ll get to the point where we won’t be able to even say Good Morning to each other for fear of offending somebody. .

The Sun reports a pub singer was arrested for alleged "racism" after belting out the chart hit Kung Fu Fighting as two Chinese people walked past.

One of them complained to cops, who later nicked stunned Simon Ledger - in a Chinese restaurant.

Simon, 34, often performs the song in Sandown, Isle of Wight. He said: "I hadn't even seen these two."

Now he fears he could get a criminal record.

Cops sprang into action and arrested Simon despite the fact that he regularly features the 1974 No1 in his act at a seaside pub.

Simon, who has performed on TV with Michael Barrymore, was doing a spot with a pal at the town's Driftwood Beach Bar on Sunday afternoon.

All went well until he began the Carl Douglas disco classic, with its famous Chinese-sounding riff.

Simon said: "We were performing Kung Fu Fighting, as we do during all our sets. People of all races were loving it. Chinese people have never been offended by it before.

"But this lad walking past with his mum called us w*****s and did the hand sign before taking a picture on his mobile phone.

"We hadn't even seen them when we started the song. He must have phoned the police.

"They phoned me when I was in a Chinese restaurant that night. They arranged to meet me and I was arrested.

I thought it was a joke but they were serious. They seemed pretty amazed but said the law is the law and it was their duty. It's political correctness gone potty."

Simon added: "There are plenty of Welsh people at our shows - does it mean I can't play any Tom Jones?"

Bar owner Sean Ware said: "The song is in no way racist and nor is Simon. There is no way he would abuse anyone.
