the Cisco Kid...

We met down on the fort of Rio Grande
Eat the salted peanuts out of can...

Dale "Cisco" Francisco's premature jump into the mayor's race has ruffled a few conservative feathers...some grumblings on the sideline say Dale should finish out his 4-year term as a councilman first....he was elected in 2007..must've figured he knows enough about city politics, and is now ready to be mayor..not so fast Cisco...Steve Cushman's supporters are complaining that you will simply dilute his votes and hand the election to Schneider...in other words, Dale San Francisco doesn't have a chance of winning...the pathologically conservative Montecito Journal even says Dale should withdraw fron the mayor's race and stick to the council...hey..I agree! I think both these bozos Dale and Steve, should withdraw..I mean, Cushman wants to run the city like a business, he's head of the NONPROFIT Chamber of Commerce, and businesses are folding up like lawn chairs in Santa Barbara...what is he doing about it? NOTHING!! His website is full of puff..you can buy baseball cards from it! Why can't they get a candidate who understands the relationship between the public and private sector... who can fashion policies that benefit both? Instead we have silly turf wars between the NewsPress and City Hall due to excessive money in one whacko's hands...I need a candidate who will tell the News-Press to fuck-off and get some honesty flowing thru the microphones...testing testing...Dale ain't the guy...Cushman ain't the guy..so I don't know who is the guy! Helene? Is she the guy? I wanna see some alpha female and Brawlin' Betty outta her and soon...let's rock n roll baby....

Wha???
there are two new forums for the city council and mayor candidates, but these are a little different; you gotta pay to get in! One is at the Marmonte and the other is at Ty Warnerville's (formerly Montecito) prissy Biltmore and will cost about 50 bucks to hobnob with the mayoral candidates...
It's put on by two nonprofits: The Greater Santa Barbara Lodging & Restaurant Association..and the Chamber of Commerce ....what is with these people and their nonprofits and all these forums! since when did politics turn into a nonprofit day care center where politicians are now babysitters for a needy electorate always crying about this and that...

what next, calling up councilmembers and congresswomen and asking them what I should have for dinner?
