and family values...
Well, I finally figured it out..the Yes on B people had me confused for awhile..that's not hard to do, but how is it that all these monied, conservative, for- property- rights- before- we- were against them, suddenly turn into anti-growthers? After all, these folks are developers and realtors, and Wendy would rather die than let anyone tell her what to do with her properties..what the heck is going on here...then it hit me: affordable housing..that's what Yes on B is all about..they don't want poor people/working class scum living in town! That's it... that's all...Measure B is an initiative against po' people, not building heights!
Randy and the High Rise....
By STEVE BROWN / The Dallas Morning News stevebrown@dallasnews.com
The CEO of a local homebuilding company has purchased a two-building office complex on Turtle Creek in Dallas with plans to hold the property for a future residential high-rise project.
Randall Van Wolfswinkel, CEO of First Texas Homes, bought the former Republic Insurance buildings at 2727 Turtle Creek Blvd. from an affiliate of Trammell Crow Residential. Crow Residential had owned the 5.5-acre property since 2005 and had designed two residential towers for it.
But the recession and housing downturn put an end to those plans.
"I've always liked that property and thought it was a primo site," Van Wolfswinkel said. "It has great views and is next to the Mansion on Turtle Creek.
"We think Dallas needs a high-end luxury residential building on that property –
so he builds luxury highrises in Texas to fund height limit initiatives in Santa Barbara, California!! This guy and his friends, the NewsPress, the three buyable amigos Francisco, Self and Hotchkiss are all a pretty shady bunch!
These are family values conservatives like Mike Duvall, who recently resigned over a sex scandal!!!
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Sept. 9) - A Republican state lawmaker from Southern California resigned Wednesday amid growing outrage over a videotape that caught him bragging in graphic detail about having sex with a female lobbyist and another woman.
Assemblyman Mike Duvall, whose votes on family-oriented legislation received high marks from conservative groups, said in a statement the furor over his comments had begun to divert attention from the work his fellow lawmakers were trying to finish during the final week of their session.
Mike is a Republican member of the California State Assembly from Orange County. Mike — who is married — is a strong supporter of "family values." In 2008 he condemned efforts to "condone" gay marriage. He earns strong approval from conservative groups:
Such thinking impressed certain constituencies. Earlier this year, the man who never graduated from high school received "100 percent" approval scores by the California Republican Assembly, the state’s leading conservative outfit, and the Capitol Resource Institute (CRI), a fierce guardian of traditional family values."Assemblyman Duvall has been a consistent trooper for the conservative causes," CRI president Karen England announced in March. "For the last two years, he has voted time and time again to protect and preserve family values in California. We are grateful for his support of California families.’"
Acknowledging the CRI award, Duvall observed in a press release that as long as he is in office, he would work to protect "California families" from "constant assault in Sacramento."
PUEBLO..
I was watching the candidates debate on Channel 21 or 17... I forget which, but what I didn't forget was the PUEBLO girls in tight fitting yellow tee shirts...ok, how do I join...
PUEBLO is a 501(c)4 non-profit economic and environmental justice organization dedicated to building the political power and leadership of low-income residents throughout Santa Barbara County.
This is one nonprofit I support...I support pretty women with seductive Spanish accents..and they can live next door to me all they want..if they can't afford to wash their clothes in a washing machine, they can hang their bras and panties on a clothes line in my yard..for free! I wanna be yer landlord, baby!!!
