the seventeen faces of Dr Lao...

walking round in Wendy's underwear...

WTF..another candidates forum?? This one is for the mayoral race and is sponsered by big bucks Wendy..the moderators will be Travis Armstrong and Gary Earle...both friends of Mike Self!!! Travis..YOU LIE!!! Sensing that all their pet candidates are going to lose in November, the NewsPress is in lie mode...Travis repeatedly has printed this one: the city finances were in better shape under Harriet Miller and Sandra Tripp- Jones...he forgets to mention that Tripp- Jones' finance director was funneling city funds into an Orange County derivitive scheme led by Robert Citron in which the city lost about 5 million in late 1980s.. Harriet was clueless and on the council then....the city staff caught this boondoggle, worked to get the money back, Jones' finance guy resigned and Sandra was a joke until she finally left!!
well.... let me impart a little wisdom to these people and especially to candidate Mike:
"Mike, the whole world is a circus if you look at it the right way. Every time you pick up a handful of dust, and see not the dust, but a mystery, a marvel, there in your hand - every time you stop and think, 'I'm alive, and being alive is fantastic!' - every time such a thing happens, Mike, you are part of the Circus of Dr. Lao."
Wendy, flustered by Apollonius' faraway attitude, eventually ends up taunting him. Her true nastiness emerges as she finally says, "I paid you! go on then, tell my fortune!"
Apollonius tells her:
"Tomorrow will be like today, and the day after tomorrow will be like the day before yesterday. I see your remaining days as a tedious collection of hours full of useless vanities. You will think no new thoughts. You will forget what little you have known. Older you will become, but not wiser. Stiffer, but not more dignified. Childless you are, and childless you will remain. Of that suppleness you once commanded in your youth, of that strange simplicity which once attracted men to you, neither endures, nor shall you recapture them...When you die, you will be buried and forgotten, and that is all. And for all the good or evil, creation or destruction, your living might have accomplished, you might just as well never have lived at all."
nonsense is as nonsense does...
