John Wayne in Big Jake

It’s very hard for me to pick a favorite John Wayne film.

But Big Jake is one that I find watching more times than others. It’s not as good as The Searchers, Stagecoach or The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, it doesn’t have to be.

Wayne is such a bigger than life presence that he makes an average western film memorable. Richard Boone is also very good in this 1971 film about a grandfather, Wayne, on a quest to recover his kidnapped grand son.

Worth picking up.

Sheriff Joe Arpaio Gets Back Up from Sheriff Paul Babeu and Others against Obama’s DOJ Lawsuit citing Discriminatory Practices

Do you know who Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona is?

He’s John Wayne in a sheriff’s uniform!

He gets the job done rounding up ILLEGAL ALIENS, those are people who cross the border into Arizona ILLEGALLY. They’re criminals, you know, according to the laws of the United States.

But, Federal do-nothings like President Barack Obama and the Democrats who control congress are guilty of not doing everything in their power to secure the borders.

Why?

Because they see every illegal alien (they prefer to call them undocumented residents) as potential votes for their party.

So as a result, the Feds don’t like it much when Sheriff Arpaio does the job they intentionally fail to do. So instead of enforcing the law, they prefer to file a lawsuit against the man upholding the law.

But colleagues like Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu are rallying to Sheriff Arpaio’s defense.

“Anybody who is out here in Arizona, we have a target on our back. Instead of helping us, they [the federal government] literally fight us at every turn.”

He continues. “And this is yet another example of their assault against Arizona and undermining the rule of law and undermining the great honor of our badge,” Babeu said of the latest lawsuit. “And I said, ‘Fear not, Sheriff Joe -- that the sheriffs of America stand with you; that we are constitutionally elected and empowered to protect America and to protect our citizens, and that we shall do even if our own president will not.”

In a statement, Sheriff Arpaio said, “These actions make it abundantly clear that Arizona, including the sheriff, is Washington’s new whipping boy. It’s time to take the gloves off.”

Sheriff Arpaio is not gonna back down to these wimps in Washington who are too busy calculating potential votes to saves their asses.

John Wayne’s Heirs in Family Feud

I’ve said it more than once that John Wayne is my favorite all time actor. So it pains me to read about this family squabble. But, then why should his family be different than any other.

The important thing is that we have his films to enjoy time and time again. And I think Wayne legend will only grow more as time goes on.

From The National Enquirer:

JOHN WAYNE's daughter and five of his grandchildren are embroiled in a bitter civil war.The Wayne heirs are suing Wayne Enterprises, which merged into co-defendant John Wayne Enterprises earlier this year.
In a complaint filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, Wayne's daughter, Aissa Wayne, claims she owned a 14 percent Limited Partnership interest in Wayne Enterprises, managing "certain assets of the John Wayne Estate."
Each of the five grandchildren owned a 2.8 percent Limited Partnership. According to legal docs, Wayne Enterprises had rights to exploit the late actor's name and likeness, and also had real estate interests before it merged into a new corporate entity, John Wayne Enterprises, Jan. 28.
When Wayne Enterprises, and the partners couldn't agree on how to extend it, according to the complaint.

The Era of the Soft Man in the GOP Must End Now

An interesting thing happened this weekend with a TV ad for a guy named Dale Peterson running for Agriculture Commissioner for the state of Alabama. He’s wearing a cowboy hat, riding a horse, toting a rifle and speaking firmly about what he believes in as the theme for Big Country plays in the background.

The one thing that jumped out that caused me to almost leap off my couch and scream YES... was the unabashed, unapologetic projection of strength and power that’s sorely missing in the men of the GOP.

We need more John Wayne and less John Cusack.

For some reason our men in the GOP have left their balls at home because they have bought into the lie that being softer and showing a more sensitive side of their character garners more votes.

The men of this country have become chic-a-fied as a whole, but that fact has no business in the GOP.

The men of the GOP seem to be more concerned with the media loving them, so they tie their balls around their backs and let Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, and Jan Brewer out-man them.

Good for Sarah, Michelle, and Jan because they’re stepping in the gap for our men, but it’s high time for the fellas to put their balls back on and start swings their dicks the way men are supposed to swing’em.

Men of the GOP, November of 2010 is rapidly approaching and a new crop of men like Dale Peterson and others are getting ready to push the pussies out the party.

So, you have time to put your testicles back in your sacks.
