whip it out..another animal story, that is..
that's what the NewsPress does...when they start repeating themselves or need to take cover, they switch over to "save the animals" mode...this way they ensure they will get an award from the US Humane Society and a luncheon at the Biltmore..this is the extent of animal awareness from these people...now, we've gone over these issues before but I must remind you of the contempt I have for people with Rescuer Complexes...they want to save everything and think death is a tragedy instead of a biological reality...everything dies at one time or another..how it dies is the point of controversy. We all are programmed to survive to keep the species going...bears, people, toads, hippos, apes..all of us! When in doubt whip it out!! That's my motto..
I had a cat once who used to terrorize mice and rats...he'd go outside, rip the head off a rat, bring it inside, lay it at my feet and start purring..that's one sicko cat or maybe just the way nature is...
So now we have another bear story..this one over the hill in Ojai. It seems the bears are into climbing trees in town and that has people drawing battle lines: the Dept of Fish and Game vs the animal rights folks...who's right and who's wrong? One bear went up a tree and came down in time to run off into the mountains..another bear lingered too long in the tree and was shot by Fish and Game. That's what Fish and Game does if there is a threat to public safety, they shoot wild animals. Most of the time they are transporting bears to other locations for release..that's what they do,too.
Of course, all of us want the bears to be left alone, but that didn't happen..a crowd gathered to watch the bear, someone called different agencies, and everyone showed up to watch the bears...If I was walking in the hills of Carp and saw a bear in the tree, I would not call anyone..I'd leave the bear alone and he would eventually come down and leave..if I saw a bear walking in town on school grounds, I'd call Fish and Game. It's that simple. You can't just walk up to a large powerful wild animal and ask it if it would like a nice hot cup of cocoa!
The Ojai folks should have left the bear alone and he would have gone home to the hills...but now there's an effort to bring an Animal Rescue effort a la # 69 to Ojai..
OJAI
you remember the stellar job #69 did with the monutain lions..then after she fucked that up she teamed with the News-Press to blame the Dept of Fish and Game! People with rescuer complexes can't take responsibility for their own actions if those actions clash with their self-image and self-esteem as a rescuer...that's why it's always F&G's fault when they come in and clean up these messes caused by city folk!
so next time you see a bear in a tree, say your howdos and keep walking..
