Pay to Play....

the New Press has accused every politician and voter from Chicago (Go Mundelein!) to California of pay to play politics...if you give $200 to a campaign, it must mean you want something from the candidate..well yeah..I do..I want candidates who support worker's rights, who aren't out to protect the private rich from gutting California for their own greed...an interesting thread at Nipper's site has appeared..Nipper claims the NewsPress mission is to point out gov't misdeeds and that Wendy McCaw gives millions of her ex-husband's money to charity and non-profits..both seemingly good things..but, when one reader questioned Wendy's motives, Nipper went blind and stupid again..and that's what love will do to a man sometimes! Well, a newspaper as gov't watchdog is only as good as the newspaper..in this case, the News-Press stinks like a haddock on the sea of life..it can't be trusted to watch anything..they make up negative stories about City Hall folks for political purposes..Wendy's cash donations to SB don't give her the right to lie or break labor laws..so someone has to watch her and the rich private sector..and that's me!! Private citizens (esp wealthy) have been crying too long about a government of, by and for the people...they try to stop a worker's right to organize, to work, to raise families...This is an America they don't like...unions, free speech, worker's rights, women's rights..it messes with their sense of entitlement or control..Wendy's attempts to buy Santa Barbara have failed miserably..her paper is irrelevent and as she continues to misstep into the future, in full blown denial, and I will be watching..for entertainment value only, of course..
